A Level Music Technology

Music technology is a rapidly evolving, expanding and exciting field that is transforming the way we create, experience, and interact with music. Course Breakdown Recording (20%)

Students use the recording studio to capture and mix a recording based on one song from a list of ten provided artists.

Technology-Based Composition (20%)

Students compose, record and mix one three-minute composition drawn from a choice of three briefs set by the exam board.​

Listening and Analysing Exam (25%)

Questions testing knowledge and understanding of recording and production of unseen commercial recordings

Producing and Analysing Exam (35%)

Application of knowledge and understanding of editing, mixing and production applied through examined practical using unfamiliar materials
