The Thomas Hardye School is a 13-18 mixed comprehensive school with 2300 on roll including 800 in the Sixth Form. It is a part of the Wessex Multi Academy Trust. The superb facilities include an on-site nursery and a new sports complex.

We require a qualified teacher of Science from September 2026. The ability to teach Chemistry at both KS4 and KS5 is highly desirable. However, we would consider applications from all specialisms. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and those completing their ECT years.

The Science Department has a dedicated block within the school offering well-resourced accommodation across 16 labs. The department is a vibrant and dynamic team providing all learners with an exciting range of experiences. Physics, Biology and Chemistry are all popular courses in the sixth form, and we also offer A-level Environmental Science. There is also a strong tradition of extracurricular activities and trips in the department, with lead teachers for both STEM and Science enrichment.

Wessex MAT will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. In line with KCSIE guidance, this will be part of safer recruitment checks, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children.
